As the clock struck midnight on Thursday 16th November the first harvest of Beaujolais Nouveau wine was released for sale. Just a few hours later, cases of this popular vin de primeur (harvested in Autumn and sold before Spring) arrived at Café Rouge. This was accompanied by a special Beaujolais breakfast to mark the occasion and Café Rouge customers were invited to try Beaujolais Nouveau 2006 before anyone else.

This photo marks the much anticipated arrival of the first batch from the vineyard - delivered to Café Rouge Hays Galleria at the crack of dawn in our very own Café Rouge wine wagon. Manager Kirill and his staff arrived to work at 5am to greet the arrival and brave commuters in the London Bridge area were invited to be amongst the first to sample the new crop and start the day the French way  - with a glass of wine and a hearty breakfast!
